2. Bag Yourself a Bargain on Black Friday
When: 26th November
It’s not only the most wonderful time of the year but it can be one of the most expensive too. Getting a head start on Christmas shopping and snaffling a bargain at the same time is always high on everyone’s list. Black Friday sees a flurry of sales from all the well-known online portals and (after last year’s lockdown) we expect to see a revived burst of high street stores offering some great deals in store again. As with any sale shopping, make sure you are discount savvy and that the not-to-be-missed bargain really is a great deal! Black Friday isn’t limited to the bigger brands though. In fact, there’s always some wonderful offers at most smaller businesses at this time so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the little places you love.
3. Support Small and Love Your Local with Small Business Saturday
When: 4th December
During lockdown we all thought a little bit more about shopping local and supporting smaller businesses. It’s a choice many people continue to make especially as the gift buying season begins. Small Business Saturday is the first Saturday in December where lots of lovely small businesses host events and offer products and services. If you’re keen to add a bit more meaning into the gifts you choose and want to delve deeper into what you’re buying and where it’s from, this is a super place to start.
Whether it’s selecting from oodles of handmade gifts, sourcing your Christmas dinner essentials from local farmers shops, or getting gift vouchers for experiences they’re sure to enjoy like Chocolate workshops (with yours truly), spending with small businesses who will appreciate it most is a sure-fire way to spread some goodwill this Christmas. If you really want to add a jingle to these small businesses this yuletide, don’t forget to leave a positive review post purchase.

Check out the last recommended postal dates here to ensure you don’t get your tinsel in a tangle!

The excitement levels are rising! You can feel the festivity in the air as the kids excitedly countdown to the last day of school. Depending on where you are, term end can be anywhere from the 20th of December. Get ready to say bye-bye to the school run and hello to little faces full of Christmas cheer! Awwww.

8. Last Minute Christmas Gifts
When: 24th December (if you dare leave it that late!)
With a sleighful of social events and festive cheer hitting diaries and keeping everyone busy you’ll be forgiven if you tend to be a last-minute shopper. Last minute shopping doesn’t mean defaulting to next day delivery on a whole host of ‘meh’ gifts though. With the abundance of Christmas markets and small independent shops nestled right on your doorstep, why not add some local charm to your gift buying by heading up to the high street and checking them out. You won’t have to wait (or pay) for delivery, and you’ll be surprised what treasures you can find.
Gift vouchers are another super easy (and quick) way to gift something wonderful without any extra fuss. We can provide Chocolate Collective Truffle Making Workshop vouchers right up to the big day. Simply print off the voucher and pop in your recipient’s Christmas card. No more mad dash to the petrol station on Christmas Eve. Not that you’d do that anyway, right?
9. Christmas Day! Hurrah
When: 25th December
And relax. As Christmas arrives in all its holly jolly splendour, I hope your stockings are full to the brim and your homes are filled with love, family and of course a sprinkling of cocoa this year.
