Manchester Chocolate Workshop Voucher First Prize in "Co-op Bake-Off"
I was contacted by Co-operative Foods who were running a "Co-operative Bake-Off" to coincide with the Great British Bake Off final shown on BBC1 at the beginning of October. The event was to raise funds for the Community Youth Fund, part of a local charity Forever Manchester that supports disadvantaged young people throughout the city. The event had many entrants from across the Co-Op organisation and I was asked whether I would be willing to contribute a prize.
It's great to support Forever Manchester
Everyone made a tremendous effort in making the event a success and the Deluxe Chocolate Workshop Voucher I donated was awarded as First Prize for the competition. The winning cake was an opera style cake "Izzy Rocher" a chocolate, hazelnut and caramel layered cake. So far the Co-operative have raised over £250 for disadvantaged young people. The event raised over £250 for Forever Manchester. I'm looking forward to meeting the winning entrant at one of my workshops and I'm secretly hoping she might bring some of her opera cake too!
