St Bede’s College Gets a Chocolate Treat for Enrichment Week

For the last four years it has been my absolute pleasure to introduce a new class of students from St Bede’s into the magical world of chocolate.

As part of the National Curriculum’s Enrichment Week, an important and rewarding week during the school year where students challenge themselves with new experiences and strengthen relationships with other students, St Bede’s decided to give their students a treat for the senses with my chocolate activities.

Each lucky group of students spend the morning becoming trainee chocolatiers, learning how to make chocolate truffles, lollipops and moulded chocolates. Then in the afternoon we raise the stakes, doing an Apprentice-style project where students design a chocolate product, brand it, create a marketing plan, figure out projected costs and profit and finally pitch their product to our panel of judges.

Primarily aimed at Years 9 & 10, each year working with the students at St Bede’s has been a massive success.

Our students have thoroughly enjoyed their chocolate making with Louise. The sessions are a lot of fun and really engaging and give the students a chance to try something different and learn a new skill. Louise is brilliant to work with – very personable and accommodating and takes all the planning and organising away from staff. I thoroughly recommend her to any school”
